The Circular letter was issued by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) through number letter BIL.6/2023. It aims to restructure and establish the requirements for the registration of facility contractors in Malaysia. The circular comes into effect on 1 June 2024.
The circular defines a facility contractor as a person or entity that undertakes the maintenance, repair, and alteration of buildings and other facilities. The circular specifies the following requirements for the registration of facility contractors:
1. New Contractors/ existing contractors who do not have a Facility specialization code (F)
2. Existing contractors who have a Facility specialization code (F)
In order to maintain the Facility Specialization Code (F) in the PPK renewal application for the first time after obtaining the code, the contractor must meet the following conditions:
*If conditions 4.1.2.1 (i and ii) are not met, the Facility specialization code (F) will be dropped from the company’s registration.
In order to maintain the Facility specialization Code (F) in the next PPK renewal application, the contractor must meet the following conditions:
*If it does not meet the requirements of 4.1.2.2 (i) the Facility specialization code (F) will be dropped from the company’s registration.
The imposition of SKKP requirements to meet the registration requirements for new applications, renewals and registration updates for facility contractors under the F specialization will begin on 1 June 2024.
The imposition of the Facility Contractor Registration conditions will start on 01 June 2024.
