The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) of Malaysia has recently announced that it will be terminating the Traffic Management Officer (TMO) training and certification program. The program will be replaced by the Construction Traffic Management Officer (CTMO) program, which is a more comprehensive and rigorous training program that is aligned with the Construction Industry Competency Standards (CICS).
The decision to terminate the TMO program was made after a review of the program’s effectiveness. The review found that the TMO program did not meet the current standards of the industry, and that it did not adequately prepare participants for the challenges of working in traffic management.
The CTMO program is a 10-day program that covers a wide range of topics, including traffic planning, traffic control, and traffic safety. The program is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills they need to effectively manage traffic in construction projects.
