Form G Based On UBBL 1984 (Amendment 2021)

In 27 December 2022, Ministry of Local Government Development establish qualifications for the qualifications of construction project managers and construction site supervisors who can sign Form G based on the uniform building by laws (UBBL) 1984 (Amendment 2021) letter for each state government. This mean the authority must have from the Construction Personnel Malaysia that Certified by CIDB such Certified Construction Project Malaysia, Certified Construction Malaysia, Certified Construction Site Supervisor according to the conditions set by the ministry.

The Uniform Building Bylaws (UBBL) 1984 (Amendment 2021) sets forth the qualifications for construction project managers and construction site supervisors who sign Form G. These qualifications are as follows:

 

  • Construction Project Manager
    • Must be a licensed professional engineer or architect in the state in which the project is located.
    • Must have at least five years of experience in the construction industry.
    • Must have a working knowledge of the UBBL and other applicable building codes.

 

  • Construction Site Supervisor
    • Must have at least three years of experience in the construction industry.
    • Must have a working knowledge of the UBBL and other applicable building codes.
    • Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
    • Must be able to effectively communicate with construction workers and other project stakeholders.

 

In addition to the above qualifications, both construction project managers and construction site supervisors must be able to demonstrate their competence in the following areas:

 

  • Safety
    • Must be able to develop and implement a safe work plan for the project.
    • Must be able to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
    • Must be able to enforce safety procedures on the construction site.

 

  • Quality Control
    • Must be able to develop and implement a quality control plan for the project.
    • Must be able to inspect work in progress to ensure that it meets all applicable standards.
    • Must be able to take corrective action when necessary to ensure that the project is completed to a high standard of quality.

 

  • Cost Management
    • Must be able to develop and manage a budget for the project.
    • Must be able to track expenses and ensure that the project stays on budget.
    • Must be able to identify and mitigate potential cost overruns.

 

The qualifications for construction project managers and construction site supervisors who sign Form G are designed to ensure that these individuals have the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to safely and effectively manage construction projects.
